Description
Bull’s Eye Malachite Polished Slice
This specimen is a polished slice of malachite (Cuâ‚‚CO₃(OH)â‚‚), a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral crystallizing in the monoclinic system. It showcases malachite’s distinctive banded structure with concentric layers of varying green shades, resulting from rhythmic precipitation during formation. The vibrant green color is due to copper content. Malachite forms as a secondary mineral in oxidized zones of copper deposits, often associated with azurite and chrysocolla. With a Mohs hardness of 3.5-4, it’s suitable for lapidary work, including jewelry making.
Malachite’s Metaphysical Description:
In metaphysical practices, malachite is regarded as a stone of transformation and balance, strongly connected to the heart chakra. It’s believed to promote emotional healing, encourage risk-taking and change, and help break unwanted patterns. The swirling patterns are said to represent the flow of universal energies. Malachite is thought to absorb negative energies, enhance intuition, deepen meditation, and foster a connection with nature. Practitioners use it for protection and to facilitate personal growth and transformation.
